2020: REBUILDING a Florida that works for OUR neighbors & OUR local businesses.
2020: REBUILDING a Florida that works for OUR neighbors & OUR local businesses.
This summer, I voted for a special session to fix DeSantis’ unemployment system so that people who are out of work can get paid what they are owed. While the system is moving again, our neighbors have still not been paid and the system grinds to a near-halt during critical moments. Both the workers who are claiming and the businesses who paid into this system deserve better.
Our small businesses are the lifeblood of our economy in District 69 and throughout Florida, I’ll champion a recovery that centers small and micro-businesses. Florida Bridge Loan Program, Visit Florida, Enterprise Florida have all been vehicles to help local businesses in the past. After years of divestment by the Majority Party, our local businesses have few places to turn for help during crisis, yet the bills keep coming. This must change.
I’ll fight to put people to work fixing critical infrastructure needs and to help our neighbors retool their skills during this downturn. I have experience connecting under- and un-employed workers to industries looking to hire. Now’s the time to invest in creating career and technical training. Now’s the time to invest our families’ futures.
In 2018, I promised I’d be good for OUR NEIGHBORS: Both Workers & Business Owners — Here’s my record:
